Off Sale!

Results of the sale:
- Day 1 - sales sharply up, with the increase in volume more than making up for the decrease in price
- Day 2 - sales down, revenue back to where it was the day before the sale
- Day 3 - started losing money, stopped the sale.
So that was an interesting experiment. Even with Ancient Frog featured in 'What we're playing' with a big red 'SALE!' sticker across it, lowering the price lowered the revenue.
The logical thing to try next is raising the price. I think I'll have to couple it with some upgrades though - new features, and maybe a bunch of new levels.
This business stuff is quite interesting, but I'm definitely happier (and better at) making games than selling them.

I would love to see more levels created. I love this app! Thanks!!
G'day James,
I could be wrong, but I think the App Store has an affiliate marketing system where any John Citizen can make a small commission when they point people to products on the App Store.
Why not do a small web page, with themed graphics, and allow affiliates to use it on their own web site!
You could write your own ad copy, leaving a couple of empty blocks where affiliates could enter their own review plus a link to purchase the game on the App Store (using their own affiliate code).
Or you could just design a handful of graphics (banners etc.) that people could use on their web site.
If you don't want to hand these over to just anyone, make them apply for them by sending a short e-mail outlining how they intend to use them, and a link to their web site.
I'm going to set up my own web site and would be glad to help promote Ancient Frog.
Regards,
Colin
